Euthanasia and The Holidays

It's a fact that there are more euthanasias during the holidays than at other times of the year. Financial pressures, guests, busy schedules and family members coming home all can play a role in why. Animal shelters see more surrenders during this time of year too for a variety of reasons, one being they were given a pet as a gift and didn't want it. Whatever the reason, the fact remains that we have to come to terms with the increased incidence of euthanasia during an already stressful time of year for so many in vet medicine and animal welfare.
